Chef Clothing

If you work at Mcdonalds or Burger King, then the clothing will be a simple polyester blend shirt and maybe some polyester blend pants or just your own pants. You will also have a baseball style cap and maybe a polyester tie.

This type of clothing isn't real chef clothing. When you go to a high quality restaurant, the chefs will dress a lot better. You can expect to see the chefs all in white and even with a tall chefs hat. The clothing is often made of thick cotton to repel stains and still be breathable.

The other thing is that professional chefs will like to have clogs made be Dansko or Birkenstock. Professional clogs have been known to be more comfortable when standing for long periods of time, to be more durable, and be safer.

Don't forget that the professional chef will also want a coat or jacket that goes with the chef jacket. Many chef jackets are light and will be white to match the regular chef attire. The jacket is good to have on hand for times when you have to go into the walk in cooler or walk in freezer to get food. A lot of kitchens will have a chef coat or jacket next to the cold areas for anyone that needs to walk into them.
